Has anyone looked into alternative dispute resolution (arbitration, mediation, etc.) businesses? Anything in particular to look out for?

There's lots to watch out for, Chloe. In international transactions, the law that applies (which country, state) can have adverse implications. What type of arbitration, is it baseball (both sides propose a solution and the arbitrator has to pick from them) vs providing full flexibility to the arbitrator, Who selects the arbitrator, how many, cost implications etc. Lots to consider and if a substantial long term transaction a very important factor cause just like a marriage, there will be challenges along the way!

Thanks for the tag, Luke. Chloe -- if I were you I would check with Bar Associations, not necessarily at the state level, but in the cities or counties you are interested in. Many such bar associations have ADR referral programs, and may be among the first line with knowledge as to who may be up for a sale. Feel free to DM me if you would like to speak.
