Datavalet seeks dynamic undergraduates and graduate candidates for its Analyst and Associate Internships in its Montreal office. Reporting to and working directly with the Chief Financial Officer on our dynamic M&A and corporate development strategy, we are looking for three (3) highly motivated candidates who are interested in careers in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, technology or business management.
Key Responsibilities and Accountability: • Deal sourcing: Source investment opportunities through market research and industry trend analysis, build and maintain target company database, and manage company outreach. • Industry Research and Business Analysis: Perform industry analysis and evaluate attractiveness of deals against investment criteria; • Financial Analysis: Analyze private company financial data, build and maintain financial models (skills here are an asset) and analyze public company information.

Allocation of responsibilities will be commensurate with experience. Recognizing that this internship is unpaid, the Chief Financial Officer promises to offer a valuable private equity and corporate finance experience, one-on-one coaching, and letters of recommendation and introductions to the Partner’s network of contacts for well-qualified interns. This opportunity is ideal for those positioning themselves for internships in investment banking, corporate banking, management consulting or business management.

Qualifications/Skills Required

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes. • Demonstrated record of leadership and taking initiative • Well organized and able to synthesize large amounts data and information • Highly analytical and detail oriented • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills • Strong work ethic innately curious and self-motivated • Minimum 2nd or 3rd year undergraduate student with strong grade point average (GPA)
