Agentic AI Intern

by a searcher from University of Texas at Austin in Dallas, TX, USA
ABOUT THE ROLE
Directions is a powerhouse creative talent agency connecting big brands with models, stylist, artist, influencers, and creatives. We're building an internal AI lab to automate the repetitive work that slows our team down — and we're looking for a driven intern who wants to get their hands dirty on AI projects.
You won't be fetching coffee or sitting in on meetings. You'll pick a project, build it, ship it, and add it to your portfolio.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
You'll collaborate with our CEO to create or select from a sourced list of real internal projects. Example projects may include:
1. An AI agent that monitors social media and job boards to flag brands actively hiring ecomm photographers, stylists, or creative directors — piping warm leads to our team.
2. An agent that identifies brands spending money booking models through competing agencies by analyzing social content.
3. An automated system that flags clients who haven't booked in 90+ days and drafts personalized re-engagement messages for our team to review and send.
4. An agent that sends timely, context-aware check-ins after jobs are completed to keep talent relationships warm.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
1. Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar LLM APIs (bonus: agentic frameworks like LangChain, CrewAI, or n8n)
2. Comfort with automation tools — Make, Zapier, n8n, or custom Python/JS pipelines
3. Ability to pull data from social platforms, job boards, or third-party APIs
4. Strong prompt engineering skills and comfort handling LLM edge cases
5. Self-directed, resourceful, comfortable building with minimal hand-holding
*Interest in the creative industry / brand marketing is a plus but not required
WHAT YOU GET
✔ Portfolio-ready projects — ship real AI agents used by a real company and track your impact. Own your work and show it off.
✔ Resume credibility — legitimate industry experience, not a classroom project.
✔ Industry access — inside view of how a creative talent agency operates + relationships with our network.
✔ Full autonomy — you choose your project, set your pace, and own it end-to-end.
COMPENSATION
This is an unpaid internship. We're upfront about that because we respect your time. In return, you get a real project, a real reference, and real work to show future employers or clients.
HOW TO APPLY
Send your resume, a short note about yourself, + any past AI or automation work you've done (links, GitHub, demos — whatever you've got) to redacted . No cover letter required.
