Howdy! I was referred to this community from a good friend who recently purchased a small business in Dallas after graduating from HBS. I'm wondering what kinds of backgrounds are prevalent here and if non-business school backgrounds are as welcome.

My experience comes from scaling and managing large operations teams for Fortune 100 companies, graduating from CU Law in the top of my class, and working with small businesses on the financial and operational strategies to accomplish their growth goals.

Hoping to make some solid relationships and learn a lot! Thank you!

Hi, Jordan. While most here have the kinds of background John mentioned, you don't need that kind of background to get into ETA at all. At least, in my opinion and experience. Though I'm of course a bit biased coming from an unconventional background myself. Hah!

With your background, I know some sellers would be relieved to know that you have operations experience to rely on.

Would be happy to chat anytime!

Jordan, all backgrounds are relevant however most have backgrounds in PE, IB or Consulting as a general rule of thumb. You should try and read as much as you can on this site and from the other resources that have published informational material.
