I've had a tough time finding good help, and bad experiences with the two providers I've hired in the past 12 months (no known issues with the technicals, but unreasonably poor communication in general). I'm looking for help with: 1. Tax planning & strategy 2. Annual & quarterly filings (federal + 4-5 states) My hypotheses for why I've struck out twice are: 1. I'm expecting too much & should instead be looking at multiple roles/firms for this scope. 2. I don't have a good understanding of the segments & therefore have hired advisors for whom I'm not a good fit (eg. i should look for advisors who focus on ecommerce, New England, sole proprietors, other dimension) Any advice how to find/vet an advisor who's likely to be a good long-term partner?

I'd check out Josh Lowenthal. He's a tax attorney and can help you plan ahead. https://joshualowenthal.com/

I can help you with all of that. It's a difference between the knowledge and experience of the people you've contacted, and a lot of firms aren't taking new clients, so that significantly narrows the field. Besides myself, I know of 1 firm personally that I could recommend that might be taking new clients.
