I came across this article today about a Manassas, VA -based adult day care center — Bright Center — that’s struggling to stay open due to recent Medicaid reimbursement cuts in Virginia: https://wtop.com/prince-william-county/2025/10/medicaid-cuts-leave-manassas-adult-daycare-center-struggling-to-stay-open/ It got me thinking that for an established or better-capitalized operator in the adult day services space, this could represent a potential roll-up or acquisition opportunity. At the same time, if you’re looking to acquire in this sector, this might be a useful data point to assess — both in terms of whether adult day services remain an attractive segment, and whether this owner might simply be leaving money on the table due to operational or funding challenges. To be clear, I have no connection to the business and no information beyond what’s in the article — just sharing it here in case someone in the community is exploring healthcare services or regional consolidation plays. Always interesting to see how policy shifts can create both challenges and openings in fragmented sectors like this.

Sajid, thank you for sharing this article. Healthcare providers that predominantly serve Medicaid clients are definitely facing challenges due to reimbursement cutbacks. Some may not survive, and others will need to change client mix and business model.

Yes, I'm not in this market but I noticed a few listings showing up in Virginia around the time medicaid cuts were put into place. I would imagine this impacts all sorts of senior related services.
