Has anyone here found ZoomInfo’s company revenue data to be reliable? I’m looking at using it for preliminary screening of acquisition targets, but I’ve heard mixed reviews—especially where the reported revenue seems inconsistent with company size or other public info. If you’ve used ZoomInfo for deal sourcing, how accurate have you found their revenue figures, and do you cross-check them with other sources before reaching out?

non of these companies are really good at it. Even a premium brand like D&B has to model out sales and employee numbers based on a really small sample size per industry that they collect data from. I have yet to find a really good and accurate source for small businesses.

Accuracy of revenue size was about 50% for us looking at companies in the lower middle-market. Accuracy of contact person and their contact info was probably 70% if I remember correctly. If I calculated the leads that had accurate revenue, accurate contact info, owner wasn't already exited, accurate industry, and the company info wasn't a mix of two companies w/ similar names: the number drops to about 50%. That means I still have to validate all the info prior to or at initial outreach. It sucked when a team member spoke to a roofer thinking they had $40M in revenue only to find they were a solopreneur with $150k in annual revenue.
