We had kicked off 2024 with our post '24 Tips for Search Funds During 2024'. We've helped over 40 searchers over the past three years in evaluating various small businesses across a variety of subsectors. There have been many learnings year-to-date as 2024 continues to be a challenging M&A environment with few deals getting done for both traditional and self-funded searchers. We wanted to update our readers with new lessons learned in our latest blog post:

Since January, we've assisted 10 searchers with post-LOI transactions and just one of the opportunities successfully closed. There are many lessons learned from the nine dead deals in the ever-evolving search landscape. M&A has already begun to pick-up over the past month after a slow summer and we anticipate incremental activity this winter post-election heading into###-###-#### We look forward to seeing many of you at the Harvard ETA conference next month and have enjoyed collaborating with traditional searchers, self-funded searchers, independent sponsors, and investors throughout the year.
