1st Year as an Owner-Operator | Anyone else in the Trenches?

Hey all,
I recently acquired a water well drilling and services business (about 6 months in) and now fully in the operator seat.
As expected, the transition from deal to day-to-day operations has been incredibly exciting and equally humbling. We’ve got a strong legacy team (20+ years), but navigating growth, new hires and prioritization in real time is a different game.
I’m looking to connect with a small group of other operators who are in their first 12–24 months post-acquisition- particularly those in home services, infrastructure, or field service businesses.
Would love to:
- Compare notes on what’s working (and what’s not)
- Share lessons learned from the 1st year
- Talk through real-world challenges (team, pricing, growth, etc.)
- Discuss 'growth by acquisition' strategies
- Potentially form a small monthly operator roundtable (5–8 people max)
If you’re in a similar stage, drop a comment or DM me.
